Relational Trauma | Emotional Neglect

Relational trauma and emotional neglect happens when an individual experiences repeated mistreatment at the hands of someone else. This mistreatment is demeaning and ignores the dignity, safety, and well-being of the individual.

This might stem from repeated experiences of neglect, verbal abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse, intimidation and fear, unstable, chaotic, and overwhelming types of behavior that causes lasting psychological harm. It has a significant impact on ones ability to develop healthy, trusting and satisfying relationships. It negatively affects ones emotional, psychological, behavioral, and even physical health.


Family Conflict | Boundaries | Communication

We all have conflict with from time to time. When you are experiencing stress and anxiety when interacting with those around you, it can be life changing to learn how to identify and set boundaries and learn how to implement effective and assertive communication skills.

It’s also helpful to speak with a professional, someone who can be objective and neutral. In therapy, we can identify potential blindspots. You will also find the needed support and confidence for your decisions so that you are choosing how you respond instead of retreating into they cycle of reactivity.

Whatever you may be facing, I am here to help you make the change you need. It’s important to me that therapy is a safe and non-judgmental space so that you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs about yourself. Through gentle exploration, I aim to help you identify the negative beliefs and self-talk that may be roadblocks to your personal growth or tough decisions that you need to make but don’t feel ready or competent to handle. I encourage my clients to practice self-compassion and self-care, helping them develop a more nurturing and supportive relationship with themselves. Through cognitive restructuring, behavioral experiments, and mindfulness techniques, I empower my clients to develop a more resilient and positive self-concept, fostering confidence and self-worth.

Grief | Prolonged Grief

My approach to treating grief is rooted in empathy, understanding, and unwavering support. I believe in the healing power of expression, encouraging you to open up and share your unique story of loss. Your experiences are incredibly valuable to me, and I am here to listen attentively and compassionately. Together, we will delve into the intricate layers of your grief, exploring how your loss has impacted your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I utilize a range of therapeutic techniques, including cognitive restructuring, mindfulness, and narrative therapy, to help you navigate through your grief and discover meaning in your loss. Additionally, I work collaboratively with you to develop coping strategies and self-care practices that will guide you on your journey toward healing. My ultimate goal is to empower you to honor your loved ones' memories while finding a sense of peace and acceptance in your own life.


Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder | Complex PTSD

As a trauma-informed therapist, I treat both PTSD and Complex PTSD. Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can be caused by a single traumatic event or prolonged exposure to trauma. Complex PTSD, also known as Developmental Trauma Disorder, is characterized by trauma that occurs over an extended period, often beginning in childhood.

Symptoms of PTSD include flashbacks, feelings of unsafety, intrusive thoughts, avoidance of thoughts, places, and people, hyper-vigilance, sleep difficulties, hopelessness, difficulty with emotion regulation, negative self-view, and difficulty trusting others.

Some of the most effective evidence-based treatments for PTSD are Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). I have witnessed incredible growth, healing, and change in my clients through the use of these modalities.

Anxiety and Depression

I understand the profound impact that anxiety and depression can have on your daily life and overall well-being. It often feels like an ongoing battle, with each day presenting new challenges and obstacles to overcome. As a therapist, I feel privileged to witness my clients' growth and transformation. Together, we will explore the root causes of your anxiety and/or depression, which may be linked to past traumas, negative thought patterns, or underlying issues. Using evidence-based techniques, I will assist you in developing coping strategies and tools to manage and, ideally, reduce your symptoms. Remember, you are not alone in this journey, and with the right support and guidance, you can find relief and regain a sense of control and direction in your life.
